The clock is ticking down, there’s a frantic rush, then the buzzer sounds. It’s halftime! Yes, we’re at a mid-point in this winter season. Whether you’re exhausted, grateful, or hoping for winter to bring on more snow, it’s a reflection point. If you’re lucky enough to get a gap between storms, it’s time to ask yourself, what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what are you ready to improve in the 2nd half?
Once you’ve caught up with your SIMA year-end to-do list, a winter break may also allow some time for training. Utilize your $200 training commitment credit and get certified. It’s easier to do it now when you’re in ‘winter mode’ than to put it off for a later date.

As we head into the second half of winter, I’d like to welcome our new officers and director on the SIMA board of directors. We have some exciting programs in the works that aim to improve access to insurance, build interest groups, and offer opportunities for companies and people new to snow and ice.
I look forward to seeing you and celebrating our successes at the Snow & Ice Symposium in Cincinnati, OH, June 23-26, 2026!
